What time is check-in and check-out?

Camelot Campground check in times for RV and Tent sites is 2pm, Cabin sites are 3pm. Check out time for all sites is 11:00am. Anyone arriving before the check in time may be charged a $10 early check in fee. Base rate for all sites are for 2 adults ages 16 or older and 4 children age 15 and under ($5 per extra person). Fees for extra person(s) do not apply from mid September through mid May. A $10 fee is implemented per extra vehicle. All visitors outside of the campground visiting a camper are subject to a $6 per person fee. There are no refunds for early departure.

What is your cancellation policy?

A $10.00 fee will be charged for all cancellations. All cancellations pertaining to a cabin must be made 7 days prior to scheduled arrival. All cancellations pertaining to an RV or tent site must be made at least 48 hours prior to arrival date. For cancellations pertaining to a holiday or special event, notification must be made at least 7 days prior to the arrival date for RV or tent sites and 14 days prior for cabins. Failure to cancel by above deadline will result in forfeiture of deposit. All cancellations must be made by phone. For reservations or cancellations please contact us at (888) 562-4502.

Are pets allowed at your campground?

Pets are allowed at the campground and we welcome all breeds as long as they are well behaved and picked up after.

Do you allow guest to visit us?

Guests are allowed to visit you at the campground for a $5/person fee a day which allows them to use the same amenities as our campers. It may take up to 7 days after we process the return to reflect in your account, depending on your financial institution's processing time.

Is extra parking available?

Each site is allowed one vehicle, if you have an extra vehicle it is $5 and must be parked in our pool parking lot. Washing of vehicles or units is strictly prohibited.

Is it okay to take any plantings with us when we leave?

We proudly spend a great deal of time and money enhancing the beauty and nature of the park so please don't take anything with you. We would be happy to tell you what we have planted and help you find where you can get it.

Can we use our outdoor carpet in our campsite?

No carpets are allowed on our grass, we work very hard at keeping the grass alive to provide you the nicest site we can.

Can we fish in the campground's lake?

Fishing is allowed in our lakes and no fishing license is required. You man bring your boat into the campground for a $5 fee per boat. Trolling motors only, if the boat has a gas motor it needs to be completely removed before it goes into the lakes.

Do you sell firewood?

Camping isn't camping without a campfire, however, due to the Ash Borer disease we only allow USDA certified wood to be burned. If you don't buy the wood from us you must show proof that it is USDA certified.

We stayed here in October 2025. We followed our GPS along with the campground instructions, though the written directions were slightly off. Coming off I-80 to IL-92 west, the instructions said to turn left at the third stoplight onto 78th Street, but the correct turn was actually at the second stoplight. Other than that small hiccup, both the GPS and campground directions worked fine. Check-in was quick and easy, and we were guided by golf cart to our site. We were told to make wide turns where the cart did, and by following that advice we had no issues pulling into pull-through site 31 with full hookups. The site was more than long enough for our 40-foot fifth wheel and F450. Most of the utilities were located near the middle of the pad, but we needed about 25 feet of water hose to comfortably reach the connections and align with the sewer. We had 3 bars on Verizon and 2 bars on T-Mobile. The campground has mature trees throughout, so satellite users may need to reposition for a clear shot, though it would be possible. Since our T-Mobile signal was solid, we used T-Mobile Home Internet instead of deploying Starlink. Water pressure was decent during our stay. The campground offers a mix of deluxe patio sites and water-view or water-access sites, though for our one-night stay we were in a basic gravel site. There are permanent and seasonal residents in the campground, but the sites were neat and orderly. Overall, this was a decent campground for a short stop or even a longer stay.

Rented a little cabin while my folks stayed in the RV. Cozy cabin on the water with a fridge. I brought my blankets and pillows and the heater kept me warm and toasty. Great place for kids to play and have a camp fire. Place has probably been here 50 years but I like it. Shower was tepid and driveway could use more gravel in spots. Overall good times will come back.

Interesting weekend stop in our RV. Camp ground itself was beautifully located with view of water/small lake. Bathhouse was clean, but a little old. My wife didn't like that the shower rooms were in a hallway that was co-ed. Women like to come out of shower and finish "getting ready". "They don't just throw on clothes like guys". We came during last week of Oct. everything was shut down, but it was 1 of the few places that was staying open and had water on at the camp sites still. Looked like it would be a really nice campground with activities during the summer. Pads were gravel that were not very level. there were some concrete pads for a few more $$. Really nice fire rings with their logos. Pads were tight, but no one was there except us and 6-8 others. Very poor TV reception for DTV channels (disappointing). Hooked up to their cable, but it wasn't on.

The campground is really nice. It's clean and has lots of things to do for kids. We had a nice spot right across from the water. The fishing was good but none were big enough to keep. No license necessary. It's really close to stores and the wifi works great. The people that work there are friendly. This would really be a great place if you have children. We would definitely go back if we're in the area.

Can we bring and use our own golf cart at Camelot?
All OHV (off-highway vehicles) must be electric powered. This includes golf carts or other transportation devices such as small scouters or e-bikes. Proof of insurance is required and an annual trail pass must be purchased and displayed. Single person devices such as scouters and e-bikes with rated speed under 28 MPH do not require the trail pass.
